
I stumbled across this and it spoke to me, so I wanted to share it with y’all.
Moving forward in life is important. Stagnancy can be dangerous. But stuff happens to you. Events occur. And whether good or bad, some people say ‘you should just move on’. But that can also be dangerous.
It is important to sit with your emotions. Experience them. Process them. (Easier said than done. Lots of therapy has happened to get to this point.) It is okay to remember. ‘Forgive and forget’ isn’t as good as forgiving but also not staying on the situation where someone will hurt you again. It is okay to remember the love and life you have spent with someone and dwell in the happy moments for a time.
You don’t have to ‘move on’ to move forward.
